The program, designed for middle and high school students, promotes safe use, storage, and disposal of prescription medications and is offered free to participating schools through a partnership with Everfi, a leader in life-skills and financial education. Since 2018, Kroger Health and Everfi have worked together to provide students with resources that encourage healthy decision-making and aim to reduce prescription drug misuse among young adults. Participation in the program has grown dramatically, from about 700 students in the 2017-18 school year to nearly 65,000 students in 2024-25. Evaluations conducted before and after the curriculum show that students feel more prepared to support peers who may encounter prescription drug misuse and have a stronger understanding of the risks involved.
