Techsomed Ltd., a leading innovator in AI-based medical software for image-guided therapy, has announced a new collaboration with Medtronic, one of the most recognized names in healthcare technology. This pilot project combines Techsomed’s BioTraceIO360 software with the Medtronic Emprint microwave ablation system to create a unified platform for image-guided ablation therapy. The combined solution is designed to support interventional radiologists through each stage of the ablation process, including pre-procedure planning, real-time treatment guidance, and post-procedure evaluation.

Image guidance plays a central role in the success of minimally invasive procedures such as ablation. Yet many physicians still face limitations due to outdated imaging systems, lack of real-time visibility during procedures, and the need to switch between non-integrated technologies. These issues can reduce the ability to control tumor margins effectively, sometimes resulting in follow-up treatments or incomplete results.

By integrating Techsomed’s advanced software for planning, live visualization, and margin assessment with the Medtronic Emprint system, interventional radiologists gain access to a more cohesive and intelligent workflow. The Emprint system, which uses Thermosphere technology, works with the BioTraceIO360 software to offer features like predictive margin tracking, dynamic planning capabilities, and consistent, spherical ablation zones. This integration aims to help clinicians improve accuracy and outcomes in ablation procedures.

Yossi Abu, CEO and Founder of Techsomed, said that the collaboration is focused on advancing the quality and reliability of image-guided ablation treatments. He explained that this partnership brings together Medtronic’s extensive experience in in-vivo therapy and ablation technologies with Techsomed’s strengths in real-time imaging, predictive software modeling, and workflow integration. According to Abu, the goal is to move away from guesswork and toward data-driven precision that gives doctors more confidence and control during treatment.

With this collaboration, both companies aim to elevate standards in minimally invasive oncology procedures and provide a more effective, technology-supported approach to patient care.
