Netsmart and Pyramid Healthcare, Inc., a leading provider of behavioral health and addiction treatment services in the United States, have expanded their enterprise partnership to enhance digital infrastructure and strengthen integrated care delivery across Pyramid Healthcare’s multistate network. The collaboration focuses on advancing healthcare technology adoption, enabling more connected behavioral health services while improving operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
Through the enhanced partnership, Pyramid Healthcare will modernize its enterprise-wide EHR strategy and broaden the use of intelligent healthcare technologies across its organization. By leveraging the integrated Netsmart CareFabric® platform, the collaboration aims to improve care coordination, streamline clinical documentation, and reduce administrative burdens that often limit clinicians’ ability to focus on patient care.
Jason Hendricks, CEO of Pyramid Healthcare, highlighted the strategic importance of technology investments as the organization continues to expand its behavioral healthcare services. He explained that the strengthened collaboration with Netsmart will support more efficient clinical workflows, reduce time spent on documentation, and enable the adoption of advanced digital tools across the organization’s care network.
The relationship between the two organizations began in 2023 when Pyramid Healthcare partnered with Netsmart to address gaps in revenue cycle operations. Through that collaboration, the organization successfully modernized collections, denials management, and claims processing workflows. These improvements helped streamline financial operations while enabling staff to focus more on patient-centered care.

Building on that foundation, Pyramid Healthcare will now implement the myAvatar™ electronic health record system across its enterprise. Designed specifically for behavioral health and addiction treatment providers, myAvatar™ supports clinical documentation, telehealth services, medication management, and e-prescribing. The system also facilitates more connected and recovery-focused care experiences for the more than 56,000 individuals served annually by Pyramid Healthcare.
Mike Valentine, CEO of Netsmart, highlighted the strategic importance of scalable healthcare platforms in the evolving behavioral health landscape. He noted that integrated AI in healthcare solutions and automation tools are essential for reducing administrative workload while enabling smarter workflows and improved care outcomes.
As part of the expanded collaboration, Pyramid Healthcare will also deploy the Bells AI-powered clinical documentation suite developed by Netsmart. Bells uses ambient listening technology, near real-time transcription, and AI-driven note generation to assist clinicians with documentation tasks. These capabilities enhance accuracy and efficiency while helping healthcare providers dedicate more time to direct patient care.
Together, Netsmart and Pyramid Healthcare aim to create a technology-driven foundation that supports long-term growth, improves clinical efficiency, and strengthens the delivery of evidence-based behavioral healthcare services.
