WHOOP is intensifying its commitment to female physiology with clinically meaningful laboratory tests, predictive symptom models, and a new Menstrual Cycle White Paper.

WHOOP, the human performance company known for its wearable health technology and data-driven performance insights, has announced several new initiatives focused on advancing women’s health. The company revealed the upcoming launch of its Women’s Health Specialized Blood Biomarker Panel, along with new clinically validated updates to Hormonal Symptom Insights and Predictions and the release of a comprehensive Menstrual Cycle White Paper explaining the science behind its cycle modeling technology.

These developments build on the company’s WHOOP Advanced Labs platform, launched last year, and represent a significant step forward in integrating AI in healthcare, wearable data analytics, and personalized medical insights to better support women’s physiology and long-term health outcomes.

The new Women’s Health Specialized Blood Biomarker Panel introduces 11 clinically validated biomarkers specifically designed to provide deeper insights into female health metrics often under-measured in traditional medical checkups. These biomarkers include anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), progesterone, prolactin, thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb), free T4, free T3, leptin, vitamin B12, folic acid, magnesium, and phosphate. Together, these markers help evaluate hormonal balance, thyroid function, nutrient status, and bone metabolism.

According to Alex Vannoni, Head of Healthcare Product at WHOOP, the company aims to provide a connected health experience rather than isolated health metrics. By combining laboratory biomarker data with continuously collected wearable measurements and AI-powered analytics, WHOOP members can understand how physiological factors influence sleep quality, recovery patterns, stress responses, and physical performance over time.

The Women’s Health Specialized Panel will be available through the WHOOP app and will work alongside the company’s wearable technology to transform static laboratory test results into dynamic health insights. This integration enables members to track correlations between hormonal shifts and daily health indicators, offering a more comprehensive view of overall wellbeing.

WHOOP also introduced an enhanced Hormonal Symptom Insights and Predictions feature within its platform. This update allows users who menstruate to access a personalized cycle model that evolves based on physiological data and historical health patterns. The system can predict cycle phases, analyze symptom trends, and provide insights into potential irregularities before they develop into larger health concerns.

Within the WHOOP application, users can now monitor predicted cycle windows, observe patterns in cycle length and hormonal fluctuations, and anticipate symptoms based on individualized data modeling. The platform also integrates these insights with the Advanced Labs biomarker testing program, automatically adjusting laboratory reference ranges based on a member’s current cycle phase.

Emily Capodillupo, Senior Vice President of Research, Algorithms, and Data at WHOOP, explained that women’s physiology must be analyzed as an interconnected system. Hormonal changes influence sleep, recovery, and athletic performance, making it essential to model these relationships through continuous biometric monitoring and data analysis rather than isolated health snapshots.

To support transparency and scientific validation, WHOOP has also released a detailed Menstrual Cycle White Paper outlining the research methodology behind its predictive models. The publication explains how continuous physiological monitoring improves prediction accuracy over time and accounts for complex variables such as irregular cycles, hormonal contraception, and perimenopause.

These innovations highlight WHOOP’s commitment to addressing longstanding research gaps in women’s health, an area historically underrepresented in medical datasets and clinical studies. With women representing one of the fastest-growing segments of WHOOP’s user base, the company reports that female membership has increased by more than 150% year over year, reflecting rising demand for personalized health insights.

Supported by its Medical Advisory Board, which includes Dr. Robin Benzing and Dr. Hazel Wallace, and in collaboration with menstrual health platform Clue, WHOOP continues to expand its research and product capabilities to support women’s health across all life stages.

The Women’s Health Specialized Blood Biomarker Panel, along with additional lab testing panels, is expected to become available through the WHOOP platform beginning in April.
