The EZ-Protect Hydrophilic Closed System Intermittent Catheter builds upon the established design principles of the EZ-Series portfolio, which focuses on infection prevention, portability, and user-friendly functionality. The catheter is enclosed within a collection bag that enables touchless catheterization, reducing contamination risks and supporting improved hygiene practices. Additionally, the device features a soft-silicone, pre-lubricated introducer tip engineered to bypass bacteria at the urethral opening, further strengthening protection against urinary tract infections.
A key innovation within the EZ-Protect Hydrophilic system is its integrated water pouch technology. When activated by the user, the pouch releases water that hydrates the catheter coating, ensuring a smooth and consistent catheterization experience. This hydrophilic coating technology enhances comfort during use while helping maintain reliable catheter performance for patients managing long-term bladder conditions.
The closed-system design also supports mobility and convenience, making it suitable for both at-home and on-the-go catheterization. By combining portability with infection-prevention features, the solution empowers patients to manage bladder health more confidently while maintaining active lifestyles.
The EZ-Protect Hydrophilic catheter line is available in 12 stock keeping units (SKUs), including pocket-size kits and non-kit configurations. The product range supports French sizes 8 through 18, allowing healthcare providers to tailor catheter selection based on individual patient needs and clinical requirements.
Chris Wiesman, Chief Commercial Officer at HR HealthCare, emphasized that the launch aligns with the company’s broader mission of improving patient lives through innovative medical solutions. By expanding the EZ-Series portfolio, HR HealthCare aims to provide clinicians and patients with greater flexibility and product variety that supports comfort, daily routine, and overall quality of life.
Colby Wiesman, President and Chief Executive Officer of HR HealthCare, highlighted the oranization’s ongoing focus on evolving bladder management solutions. He noted that the company continues to invest in developing technologies that address clinical requirements while respecting the personal preferences and lifestyle needs of patients.
The EZ-Protect Hydrophilic Closed System Intermittent Catheter is now available nationwide through HR HealthCare’s distribution network and supported by the company’s field sales representatives and Patient Services team, ensuring accessible supply management for healthcare providers and patients alike.
