A new protocol enabling AI agents to coordinate diagnostics, biomarker data, providers, and health intelligence across real-world health systems.
Betterness has introduced the Betterness MCP, an agentic Model Context Protocol designed to allow AI systems to interact directly with real-world health and wellness services. The launch represents a major advancement in AI in healthcare, enabling intelligent systems not only to analyze patient data but also to coordinate real-world healthcare actions across fragmented medical ecosystems.

The Betterness MCP follows the company’s recent announcement of the Augmented Games, a real-world benchmark designed to test collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence. With the introduction of the MCP, Betterness is expanding its infrastructure to enable AI agents to move beyond data analysis and actively coordinate diagnostics, wellness services, and health optimization workflows.
The protocol will debut in beta at the OpenClaw Longevity Hackathon in San Francisco, co-hosted by Don’t Die SF and Fontaine Founders. The event will bring together more than 200 engineers, researchers, and health innovators who will experiment with the protocol and begin building applications powered by the Betterness MCP.
Mathieu Metral, Co-Founder of Fontaine Founders, emphasized the significance of providing early access to emerging healthcare technology infrastructure. According to Metral, the hackathon allows developers to explore systems that enable AI agents to interact directly with real-world healthcare services, including diagnostic testing and biomarker monitoring.
Demian Bellumio, Co-Founder of Betterness, described the MCP as a new programmable infrastructure layer for the global health and wellness ecosystem. He noted that the platform allows AI agents to connect previously disconnected data sources such as wearable devices, diagnostic laboratories, biomarker records, and provider networks. This integration enables AI systems to move from passive analysis toward actively coordinating healthcare services across the rapidly expanding global health and wellness market.
Unlike traditional implementations of the Model Context Protocol that primarily focus on reading healthcare data, the Betterness MCP introduces agentic infrastructure capable of executing actions and coordinating services. Through API integrations with major diagnostic laboratory networks, including Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, and BioReference, AI agents can assist users in locating nearby labs, scheduling diagnostic tests, retrieving biomarker results, and organizing structured health records.
The platform also enables AI agents to compute biological age using the PhenoAge algorithm, access wearable health signals such as sleep patterns, activity levels, and vital metrics, and connect users with more than 50,000 health and wellness providers through Betterness Smart Listings. Additionally, the MCP supports collaboration among specialized AI agents focused on fitness, preventive care, and longevity optimization.
Another key innovation is the platform’s continuous agent infrastructure. Unlike traditional integrations that simply transfer data between systems, Betterness enables autonomous agents that continuously monitor health signals, trigger healthcare actions, and coordinate with other AI systems across diagnostics, providers, and research workflows.
Developers participating in the OpenClaw Longevity Hackathon will receive early access to the MCP through agent registration within the Augmented Games. Participants will obtain a Bot ID that unlocks access to the MCP API token, allowing them to begin building and testing applications before the public release.
As healthcare systems increasingly adopt AI-driven technologies to improve patient outcomes and preventive care strategies, the Betterness MCP introduces a new framework for connecting AI intelligence with real-world healthcare infrastructure.
