EchoNous, a leader in AI-enhanced point-of-care ultrasound, announced a major expansion of its Kosmos platform, providing clinicians in Emergency Medicine, Labor & Delivery, and Global Health with advanced diagnostic tools previously only available on larger, cart-based systems. This update allows clinicians to perform complete, billable studies at the bedside while maintaining the portability required for hospitals, clinics, and resource-limited settings.

The expanded Kosmos platform now includes a range of FDA-cleared presets designed for quantification and critical clinical decisions. In obstetrics, clinicians can conduct full biometry including Gestational Sac, Crown-Rump Length, and Femur Length to confirm pregnancy dating and fetal viability quickly. The gynecology tools now support precise assessment of the uterus and ovaries, including measurement of cysts, masses, and bladder volume. For vascular care, the platform includes a full reporting package for Carotid, Lower Extremity Venous, and Aorta exams, enabling clinicians to perform physician-ordered, billable studies even in mobile environments.
Matt Wall, Vice President of Global Marketing at EchoNous, said that this expansion strengthens Kosmos’ position as a tool that combines portability with specialist-level functionality. He emphasized that whether it is a midwife in a rural clinic performing accurate pregnancy dating or a mobile sonographer conducting comprehensive vascular imaging, Kosmos provides the specific tools needed to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.

Beyond clinical capabilities, the update improves workflow for sonographers. Standard vascular annotations and measurements are now integrated into DICOM Structured Reporting, streamlining documentation and reducing administrative workload. By delivering cart-grade diagnostic performance in a portable platform, EchoNous aims to enhance point-of-care imaging while improving efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility for healthcare providers across varied clinical settings.
