Atlas Oncology Partners announced the successful closing of its Series A funding round, securing $28 million to expand its patient-centered oncology model. Founded by Rubicon Founders, a healthcare investment firm focused on building transformative care companies, Atlas aims to simplify cancer treatment by embedding interdisciplinary care teams directly into oncology practices. The round was led by Flare Capital Partners with strong participation from Rubicon Founders.

The funds will allow Atlas to grow its geographic reach, bring on additional oncology practice partners, and strengthen both clinical and operational infrastructure. Traditional cancer care can be fragmented, requiring patients to coordinate between multiple providers while managing complex clinical and social needs. Atlas addresses this challenge by providing integrated care teams that include providers, nurses, patient navigators, and social workers, ensuring coordinated support from diagnosis through and beyond treatment.
“Cancer can feel overwhelming from the moment of diagnosis,” said Kate Barnard Roberts, President and Co-Founder of Atlas Oncology Partners. “Atlas is designed to make care simpler and more holistic. This investment allows us to scale our model so that more patients can experience coordinated support while improving outcomes and quality of life.”

Atlas’ approach combines patient navigation, psychosocial support, proactive care coordination, and both in-person and virtual clinical access. The company assumes full medical cost risk from payers and aligns incentives with a high-value network of oncology partners. These investments support operations and deliver high-quality, value-based care that reduces avoidable costs while easing financial burdens for patients.
“Atlas is reimagining how oncology care is delivered,” said Matt Kim, Partner at Rubicon Founders. “Embedding care teams into practices and assuming medical cost risk creates a scalable model that improves outcomes, experience, and affordability.” Ian Chiang, Partner at Flare Capital Partners, added, “This model empowers community oncology groups to deliver coordinated, holistic care at scale while achieving meaningful results for patients and families impacted by cancer.”
