ReadyFix will first be deployed with GE HealthCare’s MAC VU360* resting electrocardiogram (ECG) workstations to help optimize cardiac care delivery by reducing device disruptions.
GE HealthCare, has introduced ReadyFix, a new remote fleet management solution in the United States designed to improve device uptime for healthcare systems. ReadyFix integrates with GE HealthCare’s MAC VU360 resting ECG workstations, which provide high-quality ECG readings to support faster and more confident cardiac care decisions. By connecting ReadyFix to these workstations, hospitals can access real-time data for remote diagnostics and repairs, helping ensure optimal MAC VU360 performance and uninterrupted patient care.
Health Technology Insights: Ambience Healthcare Teams With MultiCare on AI Platform Rollout
Modern hospitals often operate 10 to 15 connected devices per patient bed, which means biomedical engineering teams manage thousands of devices. Surveys indicate that more than half of biomedical engineers consider their workload heavy or excessive, while the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a significant shortage of trained biomedical equipment technicians in the next decade. This makes proactive device management more critical than ever for maintaining reliable care.
Tony Williams, Director of Biomedical Engineering at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, said that remote fleet management gives his team clear visibility and actionable insights to address equipment issues quickly. He added that these tools enhance reliability across the hospital and allow biomedical engineers to support patient care more effectively, reducing downtime and disruptions.

ReadyFix is part of GE HealthCare’s DeviceReady portfolio and allows hospitals to remotely deploy standardized clinical configurations, schedule software updates, and access diagnostic tools and log files. These features help hospitals maintain a consistent user experience, standardize devices across departments, and ensure secure, reliable transmission of ECG data. The solution also supports proactive troubleshooting, reducing the risk of unexpected device failures.
Neal Sandy, Head of Product Strategy and Management for Patient Care Solutions at GE HealthCare, explained that ReadyFix addresses the growing complexity of connected devices in healthcare. He highlighted that by simplifying operations and maintenance for MAC VU360 ECG workstations, care teams can focus on delivering timely cardiac care. Sandy also noted that ReadyFix is designed with future expansion in mind, allowing hospitals to extend the platform to additional devices and clinical areas as needed.
