OrthoArizona, one of the nation’s leading orthopedic groups and a trusted provider for elite athletes, announced a partnership with Training HAUS to bring NFL Combine Prep to Arizona. The Minnesota-based program, known for its high-level performance training, will now operate a second location in Scottsdale powered by OrthoArizona while continuing its original program in Eagan, Minnesota. Beginning December 26 and running through March, the 12-week NFL Combine Prep program will train draft prospects and free agents in preparation for the NFL Combine and the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. The program focuses on speed, strength, biomechanics, explosiveness, and injury prevention to optimize athlete performance.

Dr. Rajan Bhatt, CEO of OrthoArizona, described the partnership as a significant milestone for the organization. He emphasized that OrthoArizona has spent years building one of the most comprehensive sports medicine and orthopedic platforms in the country. Bringing Training HAUS to Arizona reflects the group’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure for athletes. According to Dr. Bhatt, elite performance requires an environment that supports top-level training and medical oversight, and OrthoArizona has created the facilities and expertise to make that possible.

The Scottsdale program features a fully integrated performance lab, including strength and conditioning, position-specific coaching such as quarterback training, physical therapy, biomechanics analysis, nutrition planning with an on-site dietitian, chef-prepared meals, pilates, yoga, and movement optimization. Training HAUS was originally founded in Minnesota alongside Twin Cities Orthopedics and has worked with top athletes across the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and PWHL. The move to Arizona provides athletes with year-round training in a warmer climate while maintaining access to elite sports medicine.
Bill Welle, Director of NFL Combine Prep at Training HAUS, relocated to Phoenix to lead the Scottsdale program. With more than 30 years of experience in sports performance, Welle has trained marquee athletes including Larry Fitzgerald, Travis Kelce, David Montgomery, Joe Alt, Cris Carter, and Jamal Lewis. For the Arizona program, Welle has brought a team that includes Fitzgerald’s personal pilates instructor, chef, massage therapist, and a former Los Angeles Chargers team dietitian. Former NFL offensive lineman Alex Boone will also join the program to work directly with offensive line prospects.
Welle explained that while Training HAUS has a proven model in Minnesota, climate limitations were restricting access for some athletes. Partnering with OrthoArizona allowed the program to expand to the West Coast while maintaining its physician-led, athlete-focused approach. The collaboration leverages shared NFL connections, as Twin Cities Orthopedics serves as the team physician for the Minnesota Vikings and OrthoArizona serves as the Arizona Cardinals’ team physician.
Dr. Caleb Behrend, President of OrthoArizona, noted that elite performance requires top medical oversight. He said the fully integrated sports medicine model at OrthoArizona allows athletes to train, recover, and stay healthy throughout the NFL Combine Prep process. Founded in 1994, OrthoArizona is one of the nation’s largest orthopedic groups and the leading musculoskeletal care provider in Arizona. The organization has over 300 healthcare providers, including nearly 100 orthopedic specialists, across more than 40 locations statewide. Services include advanced diagnostic imaging, interventional pain management, preventive cardiology, podiatric surgery, outpatient surgical care, physical therapy, and walk-in clinics under the InstantOrtho brand.
