NextGen Healthcare, a top provider of cloud-based healthcare technology, has been selected by Arkansas Palliative Care to boost billing accuracy, improve data quality, expand patient access, and make things more efficient for both staff and healthcare providers. Arkansas Palliative Care is part of Arkansas Hospice, the biggest nonprofit care provider in the state, and offers a wide range of services to help patients deal with serious or chronic illnesses, understand their treatment choices, and reach their personal care goals. They will use the NextGen Closed Loop Experience, which includes the NextGen Enterprise EHR (electronic health record) and NextGen Enterprise PM (practice management) systems. These tools are expected to improve communication between different care programs and help the organization grow as two new clinics open this summer.

Nikki Taylor, APRN, director of palliative and primary care at Arkansas Palliative Care, said, “We were looking for a healthtech partner that really understood our unique needs, as we are not a typical palliative or primary care provider.” The care team provides both palliative and primary care services in several local hospitals and also directly to senior patients in their homes, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. They also run the only CMS-approved GUIDE program in the state, offering full dementia care managed entirely within Arkansas.

Taylor added, “After a thorough search, we found that NextGen Healthcare is perfectly positioned to support the wide range of our work helping Arkansas residents manage their ongoing healthcare needs. We’re excited to see how these technology investments will improve billing and data accuracy and make the staff experience better by automating time-consuming manual tasks.” The partnership aims to make workflows smoother, reduce administrative work, and enhance patient care through advanced technology.
Starting October 1, Arkansas Palliative Care and its parent organization, Arkansas Hospice, will operate under the new name LifeTouch Health. This rebranding will bring together these providers, along with primary care and non-medical personal care services, under one name to offer a full range of care for seniors and patients with life-limiting illnesses. This change reflects a strategic effort to provide more integrated and comprehensive care options across the state.
Srinivas Velamoor, president and chief operating officer of NextGen Healthcare, said, “Arkansas Palliative Care is doing very important work to help Arkansas residents manage chronic illness and other healthcare needs. We’re honored to support the organization’s growth during such an exciting time in its history and share their team’s commitment to helping staff, providers, and patients achieve better outcomes.” This collaboration highlights NextGen’s dedication to developing healthcare solutions that empower providers and improve the patient experience.
