NextSense, the neurotechnology company building first-of-its-kind, intuitive biosensing wearables for improved sleep and brain health, today announced the debut of its consumer brand, Tone, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 taking place January 7-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Event attendees will be the first to experience Tone Buds, advanced brain-sensing earbuds engineered to improve sleep quality and optimize daytime alertness through the integration of clinical-grade electroencephalography (EEG) technology.

“As a breeding ground for innovation, CES is the perfect opportunity to introduce Tone and our inaugural product, Tone Buds,” said Jonathan Berent, CEO and Founder of NextSense. “Exhibiting brands are not only bringing new products to market, but providing real opportunities to improve the way we live and advance humanity in meaningful ways. This ethos is at the core of who we are as a company and we’re excited to be a part of the future of consumer technology.”

A reported 65% of American adults have trouble falling asleep and 70 million have chronic sleep disorders. As poor sleep is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, anxiety, depression, obesity, and cognitive decline, among other health concerns, Tone by NextSense is on a mission to increase access to its technology to help people better understand and improve their sleep to enhance both short- and long-term well-being.

By continuously monitoring brain activity, Tone Buds go beyond tracking to actively improve sleep in real time. In addition to providing the expected functionality of a premium wireless earbud, Tone Buds use clinical-grade EEG technology to assess sleep stage and depth with precision unprecedented in a consumer product. In addition, the product has been designed to support all-night comfort in any sleeping position.

The AI-powered, closed-loop audio system responds to the user’s brain waves to anticipate their needs throughout the night—providing both comforting audio for falling asleep and sound-neutralizing tracks to help users stay asleep. When Tone Buds detect stage N3 sleep, the deepest stage of non-rapid eye movement (non-REM) sleep, they emit subtle pink noise stimulation to augment the brain’s slow-wave activity – a technique scientifically proven to enhance nightly restoration.
