This partnership helps patients in Middlesex County and along the Connecticut shoreline get better access to important specialty medications. While Middlesex Hospital still provides inpatient pharmacy services for patients who are admitted, this new specialty pharmacy is focused on outpatient care. It also serves as an extra retail option for patients who have been affected by nearby pharmacy closures, helping to meet a crucial community need.

Vincent G. Capece, Jr., president and CEO of Middlesex Health, spoke about the importance of the pharmacy opening. He mentioned that managing chronic or complex health conditions can be tough, especially when it comes to getting the right medications. Capece said the new pharmacy is meant to help reduce financial stress and improve the patient experience by making medication access easier.
