Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. has announced that Scott Cenci has been appointed as Senior Vice President and Chief Information and Data Officer. In this role, Scott will be in charge of Acadia’s efforts to transform its operations using digital tools, data, and artificial intelligence. He will also be part of the company’s top leadership group and will report directly to the CEO, Catherine Owen Adams.

“We are excited to have Scott join Acadia,” said Catherine Owen Adams. “Scott has a strong background in digital transformation, AI innovation, and managing IT systems across major biopharmaceutical companies. His experience in expanding digital capabilities and creating business value will be very important as we continue to grow and change.”

Scott has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech fields. He has held important leadership positions at companies like Genmab, Biogen, Zoetis, and Pfizer. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President of Global Information Technology and Digital at Genmab, where he played a key role in turning IT into a full digital operation. This helped the company grow from 500 employees to over 2,700 and revenue from $750 million to more than $3 billion.

Throughout his career, Scott has led large-scale digital and AI projects, implemented global ERP and cloud systems, and improved operations using agile methods and data analysis. He has also been involved in major corporate events such as IPOs, spin-offs, and mergers and acquisitions.
