Kennedy brings seven years of public company CFO experience

CareDx, Inc., known as The Transplant Company, has announced that Keith Kennedy will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer while continuing to serve as Chief Operating Officer, effective February 26, 2026. In this expanded position, Kennedy will lead the company’s finance organization in addition to overseeing operations. The leadership update follows the announcement by Nathan Smith during the company’s quarterly earnings call that he will step down from his position as Chief Financial Officer.

Kennedy brings more than two decades of leadership experience across the healthcare sector, with a background spanning global diagnostics, biopharma services, and contract development and manufacturing organizations. He joined CareDx as Chief Operating Officer in September 2024 and has since played a key role in guiding operational strategy. Before CareDx, he served as Chief Financial Officer at PharmaLogic Holdings Corp from April 2022 through September 2024. Earlier in his career at Veracyte, he held several senior leadership roles between December 2016 and May 2021, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary. His professional experience also includes executive positions at MCG Capital Corporation and GE Capital. Kennedy began his career serving as an officer in the United States Air Force. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with high distinction from Indiana University and later completed his MBA at the College of William and Mary. He is both a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.
