Ant Group has rolled out a significant update to the desktop version of its AI-powered health assistant AQ, adding a new feature called DeepSearch that is built to support evidence-based clinical decision-making. The upgraded service is offered at no cost to clinicians and medical students, reinforcing Ant Group’s focus on making reliable medical intelligence widely accessible to healthcare professionals.

The AQ PC platform is designed around two main functions that support daily clinical and academic work. The first is Health Q and A, which helps professionals quickly clarify medical questions, while the second is DeepSearch, a more advanced capability focused on medical literature discovery and clinical research. Together, these tools are intended to ease routine workloads for clinicians and improve access to trustworthy medical knowledge during diagnosis, treatment planning, and research activities.

Accuracy and reliability are central to the platform’s design. AQ carefully selects its data sources according to established standards of medical evidence. It brings together more than 36 million high-quality medical publications from both Chinese and international sources. This extensive knowledge base ensures that the information supporting clinical decisions reflects current practice and widely accepted medical standards.

With the introduction of DeepSearch, clinicians can now quickly locate the most recent clinical guidelines across a wide range of specialties. The system uses artificial intelligence to analyze, organize, and summarize large volumes of research material based on specific clinical scenarios. This approach significantly shortens the time required to review literature and helps clinicians focus on applying insights rather than searching for them.

DeepSearch has also been expanded to assist directly with evidence-based clinical decision support. In real-world practice, managing complex cases often involves reviewing multiple guidelines and verifying supporting research. The upgraded capability helps clinicians keep pace with international diagnostic and treatment trends, gathers relevant evidence efficiently, and presents recommendations in a clear and clinically meaningful structure. This supports more confident and well-informed treatment planning.

Additional features such as traceable references, filtering by levels of evidence, and rapid alignment with authoritative clinical guidelines further reduce the burden on healthcare professionals. These tools make it easier to verify sources and ensure that decisions are grounded in credible and up-to-date medical evidence.

AQ, known in Chinese as Ant A-Fu, is an AI-native health service introduced by Ant Group in June 2025. While the PC platform is designed for medical professionals, the broader AQ service also supports everyday users by addressing common health questions and encouraging healthy habits, particularly for issues that do not immediately require in-person hospital visits.

The platform connects users with digital health services from more than 5,000 hospitals across China and enables online consultations with approximately 300,000 licensed physicians. In addition, AQ has collaborated with over 1,000 leading doctors nationwide to create AI Doctor Agents, which are digital representations trained on each physician’s clinical expertise. These agents provide free and reliable responses to common health questions and collectively handled more than 27 million inquiries in 2025.

As of January 2026, the AQ application has reached around 30 million monthly active users and processes over 10 million health-related queries every day, positioning it as the leading AI-native health application in China.
