Fireflies.ai, a top AI tool for meetings and trusted by users at over 75% of Fortune 500 companies, has launched its newest solution designed for the healthcare industry. The company introduced Fireflies for Healthcare, an AI documentation assistant that follows HIPAA rules and is made for medical professionals. This platform helps clinicians save more than an hour a day by automatically creating clinical notes, all at a lower cost than other available tools.

This new tool comes at a critical time as many doctors are feeling burned out. Data from the American Medical Association shows nearly half of doctors report burnout, and most of them blame the increasing workload of documentation. On average, doctors spend about six hours a shift managing patient records and another two to three hours after work. Fireflies for Healthcare helps by quickly turning patient conversations into structured, compliant notes instead of taking hours.

Krish Ramineni, CEO and Co-founder of Fireflies.ai, said healthcare professionals shouldn’t be stuck in administrative tasks. He explained that the goal of Fireflies for Healthcare is to help clinicians by giving them useful tools that make their work easier without needing to buy expensive software. This new tool is already included in existing Fireflies subscriptions, so smaller practices with limited resources can access high-quality AI tools more easily.

The platform is built to support actual clinical processes. It includes smart templates for common documentation styles like SOAP, DAP, BIRP, GIRP, and PIRP. It also features 15 AI-powered tools that help clinicians track medications, summarize patient histories, create referral notes, and even schedule follow-up visits. The tool can also generate sick notes and draft patient feedback surveys. A built-in Chrome extension connects directly with electronic health record systems, avoiding the need for costly API setups. As a result, clinics can start using Fireflies in just a few days.

Security and compliance are also key features of the platform. Fireflies for Healthcare meets HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, and GDPR standards. Patient conversations are encrypted using 256-bit protocols, time-stamped for audits, and never used to train the company’s AI models. For psychiatric nurse practitioner Jennifer Bowen, DNP, PMHNP-BC, the technology has changed how she works. She explained that her job requires capturing subtle details in patient conversations. Before Fireflies, documentation was time-consuming. Now, she can create fast, compliant notes and focus more on her patients.
