The partnership enables Teladoc Health’s employer clients and members more streamlined and fully integrated access to Carrum’s value-based Centers of Excellence network for specialty care

Carrum Health, the leader in value-based Centers of Excellence for specialty care, announced a strategic partnership with Teladoc Health, the global leader in virtual care. The new arrangement will allow Teladoc Health’s providers to seamlessly refer eligible members needing specialty care into Carrum’s nationwide network of rigorously vetted, high quality providers. This means employers can contract directly through Teladoc Health’s Connected Care program to access Carrum’s network, and benefit from bi-directional care coordination with deeper technology integration between Teladoc and Carrum to better support members across the healthcare continuum.

The partnership will address a growing demand from employers for better integrated benefits solutions. Per the Business Group on Health, 70% of employers are concerned about managing multiple point solutions and the lack of coordination between them.

With thousands of customers and more than 93 million members, Teladoc Health has the scale and expertise to solve this challenge, and is uniquely positioned to improve coordination, drive employee benefits awareness and increase health engagement. Teladoc Health’s unified app offers convenient single sign-on, guiding eligible members directly to Carrum’s services with a seamless experience. Members gain simplified access to a broad spectrum of eligible healthcare services to achieve optimal health outcomes.

“We know that customers and members are looking for new ways to connect multi-condition healthcare needs across a growing ecosystem of solutions,” said Kelly Bliss, Teladoc Health President of U.S. Group Health. “Not only are we connecting our customers and members to best-in-class partners such as Carrum Health for specialty care, but we’re also delivering a truly integrated experience, all on the innovative, industry-leading Teladoc Health app that they already trust for primary care, cardiometabolic care, mental health and complex needs.”

Connected Care will allow Teladoc Health’s employer clients to avoid the additional procurement legwork by using their existing contract to easily adopt Carrum’s value-based COE network. Beyond simplified contracting, employers can benefit from prebuilt clinical, digital and data integrations between Carrum Health and Teladoc Health which will streamline administration and significantly improve member engagement, thus delivering greater cost savings.

With healthcare prices rising at unsustainable rates, and PwC predicting an 8% increase in costs in 2025, employers must implement tactics that can result in meaningful reductions to healthcare spend.

“The biggest costs lie downstream in specialty care but the trick is getting referrals into the right specialists with contracts that align incentives. Our new partnership solves this paradigm by connecting Teladoc Health’s innovative primary and chronic care offerings into Carrum’s curated COE network where we’ve structured payment around outcomes and value,” said Brent Nicholson, Carrum Health’s Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer. “Our collaboration with Teladoc Health will boost engagement, create more seamless experiences for members, and deliver more hard-dollar cost savings for employers.”
