Wildix, a global company that provides AI-powered business communication tools, and UK healthcare software firm RoboReception have launched a 24/7 AI receptionist system that is changing how patients access care and improving the economics of healthcare. Since May 2025, the AI system has handled over 50,000 patient calls without missing a single one, bringing in an additional £9 million in patient revenue and freeing up more than 2,000 hours for clinicians to focus on patient care.

Created by healthcare professionals, the system resolves 96 percent of calls using AI and only escalates 4 percent to human staff. The platform works smoothly with Wildix’s unified communications system, powered by Wilma AI, and RoboReception’s workflows customized for dentists. Unlike older front desk tools, it gives practices control over when AI steps in, integrates with patient records and scheduling, and allows for smooth escalation when needed.

Dr Grant McAree, co-founder of RoboReception, said missed calls used to mean lost patient connections and increased pressure on staff; now AI is giving practices more control and improving access for patients. Dimitri Osler, Chief Innovation Officer and co-founder of Wildix, added that this deployment is not experimental but is already scaling to hundreds of sites because it is safe, trusted, and developed in collaboration with clinical teams.

In just 65 practices, the system has increased booking rates from about 18 percent to 70 percent, generated nearly £700,000 in new patient value so far, and is expected to bring lifetime value around £9 million. Practices also saw late cancellations drop by 75 percent, while patient bookings averaged 500 new patients per month.

As more than 500 practices in the UK, Ireland, and Australia start using the system, its impact is expected to grow even more.
