Expanding Surgical Innovation Beyond Spine Surgery to Transform Neurosurgical Procedures

Viseon Inc. proudly announces the first clinical use of its groundbreaking Hubble AV System, marking a major milestone as the company expands into the neurosurgery market. Dr. Gabriel Zada, Professor of Neurological Surgery and Surgical Director of the USC Brain Tumor Center performed the first Hubble AV case treating a patient that underwent a right frontal craniotomy for a tumor resection.

Hubble AV seamlessly combines 4K visualization with lighting and graded suction into a single disposable device for rapid plug-and-play use for intracranial hematomas and tumors. Hubble AV provided dynamic visualization and illumination in a deep cavity.

Dr. Zada stated, “Neurosurgeons need minimally invasive solutions that improve visualization, efficiency and extent of resection for complex cranial pathology. Hubble AV seamlessly combines 4K visualization with lighting and graded suction into a single disposable device for rapid plug-and-play use for intracranial hematomas and tumors. Hubble AV provided dynamic visualization and illumination in a deep cavity and we achieved a complete evacuation of the hemorrhage and tumor.”

Hubble AV is a first-of-its-kind device that integrates aspiration, illumination, and advanced 4K digital visualization into a single, sterile, disposable instrument—redefining anatomical inspection and surgical efficiency. Designed to seamlessly integrate with existing operating room equipment, the Hubble AV System provides unprecedented surgical access and enhanced visualization for both open and minimally invasive procedures. With low-profile 8Fr and 12Fr options, Hubble AV significantly reduces tissue manipulation compared to traditional cannula-based camera technologies, promoting better patient outcomes. Additionally, its cutting-edge imaging system tracks the distal tip of the device, eliminating the need for scope-based image repositioning.

“Hubble AV represents a paradigm shift in neurosurgical visualization,” said Pete Davis, President & COO of Viseon Inc. “By bringing our expertise from minimally invasive spine surgery into cranial surgery, we’re delivering a next-generation therapeutic solution that promotes improved clinical outcomes, OR engagement, and medical education—while reducing reliance on costly, capital-intensive microscopes, endoscopes, and exoscopes. Hubble AV is the first device of several in development as Viseon begins its neuro-cranial product journey.”

In addition to Hubble AV, Viseon has a series of neurosurgery devices in development that will expand the use of Viseon technology to treat a variety of patient conditions. Viseon believes that this broad product platform, combining 4K imaging with routinely used instruments will create valuable therapeutic tools, smarter instruments, leading to superior clinical results and OR efficiencies compared to currently used techniques and devices used by the neurosurgeon.

The Hubble AV System’s digital platform enables highly magnified, real-time 4K visualization on operating room monitors—allowing the entire surgical team to observe procedures with unprecedented clarity. Additionally, its built-in 4K digital recording facilitates post-operative review, advanced training, patient education, and integration with emerging technologies such as mixed reality solutions, robotic-assisted surgery, AI surgical support and remote proctoring.
