Prisma Health has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with Minerra Health to advance a system-wide comprehensive obesity care platform designed to support patients across the full continuum of care. The initiative integrates lifestyle management, medical therapies, pharmacy support, and surgical treatment pathways to deliver coordinated, patient-centered obesity care across the healthcare system.

The collaboration builds on strong early performance and marks a strategic shift in Minerra Health’s role within Prisma Health. Initially deployed to support surgical navigation, the platform will now evolve into a broader longitudinal obesity care model designed to guide patients through every stage of treatment. As part of the expansion, Prisma Health has also made a strategic investment in Minerra Health to accelerate innovation and scale.
Jonathan Gleason, EVP and Chief Clinical Officer of Prisma Health, highlighted the importance of operationalizing comprehensive obesity care within modern healthcare systems. He noted that Minerra Health has demonstrated the ability to translate obesity treatment strategies into measurable clinical and financial outcomes within Prisma Health’s network. By integrating lifestyle support, pharmacological therapies, and bariatric surgery within a single coordinated framework, the platform aims to improve patient access while strengthening the performance of obesity-focused healthcare services.

Since launching in mid-2024, the Minerra platform has already delivered measurable improvements throughout the bariatric care journey. Among the most notable outcomes is a reduction of more than 30 percent in the median time from patient enrollment to surgery, significantly improving treatment timelines for individuals requiring surgical intervention. The deployment has also led to projected growth in net new bariatric surgical volume, demonstrating increased access to care and improved patient engagement across obesity treatment programs. In addition, the platform achieved a four-times first-year return on investment, highlighting strong economic alignment for healthcare providers implementing the model.
Krishnan Sridharan, CEO of Minerra Health, emphasized the importance of delivering obesity care through an integrated, longitudinal model rather than isolated treatment solutions. According to Sridharan, the partnership with Prisma Health illustrates how coordinated care models can simultaneously improve patient outcomes and optimize healthcare system performance. By connecting lifestyle interventions, medication management, and procedural care pathways, the platform creates a more comprehensive treatment experience for patients managing obesity.
Looking ahead, Prisma Health and Minerra Health plan to expand the collaboration further by introducing new medical weight management pathways, implementing GLP-1 stewardship programs, and developing employer-sponsored obesity care initiatives. These additional phases aim to extend the platform’s impact while addressing growing demand for coordinated obesity treatment solutions.
Through this expanded partnership, Prisma Health and Minerra Health are working to establish a new operational standard for obesity care – one that strengthens surgical utilization, improves long-term health outcomes, and delivers measurable value for patients, providers, and healthcare systems alike.
