Pager Health, a connected health platform serving over 26 million members across the U.S. and Latin America, has introduced its new AI-powered Behavioral Health Agent. This innovative tool is designed as a plan-native and vendor-neutral navigation system that helps members easily find, evaluate, and access behavioral health resources. The agent uses intelligent triage and personalized guidance to meet members where they are in their mental health journey, making it simpler to understand and connect with the right support available through a variety of in-network clinicians, specialized networks, vendor platforms, and internal programs.
Dr. Ken Yamaguchi, Chief Medical Officer at Pager Health, explained, “Health plans often offer strong behavioral health services but lack integration or clinical triage, leaving members to navigate a confusing maze of disconnected providers and programs. Our Behavioral Health Agent aims to eliminate this fragmentation by guiding—not steering—members to the right care at the right time through a seamless and connected experience.”

The Behavioral Health Agent is designed to handle the complexity of today’s health plan systems by providing members with a private, omnichannel interface that delivers personalized recommendations based on clinically validated assessments and real-time routing. It offers comprehensive navigation across all four behavioral health pillars including in-network providers, third-party vendor programs, plan-run services such as crisis lines, and niche specialty networks. The agent uses AI-assisted triage combined with PHQ-2/9 and GAD-7 screening tools to highlight the most appropriate resources based on the member’s symptoms, acuity, eligibility, and benefit coverage. Available through secure chat, phone, SMS, member portals, and mobile apps, it integrates fully within the health plan’s existing operations while remaining agnostic to specific provider or vendor networks.

By streamlining access to the right behavioral health services, Pager Health’s new agent is expected to boost member engagement, enhance utilization of current programs, reduce the workload on clinical teams, and strengthen the health plan’s role as a trusted access point for behavioral health support. “Our goal is simple,” Dr. Yamaguchi said, “reduce confusion, speed up access, and make sure members feel supported no matter where they are or what kind of help they need.”
This launch reinforces Pager Health’s commitment to transforming care navigation and improving health outcomes across all aspects of healthcare delivery. The company aims to bring clear, effective, and compassionate behavioral health support to members, driving better engagement, timely care, and overall well-being.
