Omnicell, Inc., a leading healthcare technology company focused on advancing autonomous medication management, announced the launch of Omnicell Titan XT, a next-generation, enterprise-level automated dispensing system. Titan XT is designed to combine proven automation with advanced intelligence to provide health systems with a more efficient and connected medication management experience.
Titan XT integrates seamlessly with OmniSphere, Omnicell’s cloud-based, HITRUST-certified medication management platform. OmniSphere enables unified user management, task guidance, global formulary support, and perpetual inventory oversight, creating a fully connected enterprise-wide medication ecosystem. With the launch of Titan XT, OmniSphere now extends its capabilities to nursing care areas, giving pharmacy teams enhanced inventory control while allowing nurses to administer medications with greater confidence.

“The introduction of Titan XT represents a major milestone for Omnicell and our progress toward cloud-enabled, autonomous medication management,” said Randall Lipps, chairman, president, CEO, and founder of Omnicell. “We are starting with nursing floors and plan to integrate every care area into the OmniSphere platform. Our goal is to create the most complete, connected automation ecosystem in healthcare.”

Titan XT provides pharmacy leaders with enterprise-wide visibility and control of medication inventory through features such as DynamicRestock, which offers guided workflows for pharmacy technicians and frees staff for higher-value tasks. The system also centralizes inventory management, standardizes configuration and medication assignments, and uses AI-driven intelligence to predict stock risks, support proactive decisions, and optimize resources across the enterprise.
“The ability to assign new drugs through OmniSphere has greatly streamlined cabinet restocking,” said Terry Spurlin, clinical informatics pharmacist at Holzer Regional Medical Center. “Pharmacy technicians now know exactly where to place medications, resulting in about a seventy percent time savings on this workflow.”
For nurses, Titan XT simplifies medication retrieval to reduce time spent at the cabinet, allowing more focus on patient care. “Nursing time is critical. The less time spent at the cabinet, the more time at the bedside, which is essential for patient care,” noted a pharmacy leader involved in Titan XT’s design.
Safety is a key feature of Titan XT, which incorporates FiveRights safeguards to prevent common medication errors. These include alerts for look-alike, sound-alike drugs and overrides, targeted notifications to reduce alarm fatigue, and simplified workflows that accelerate staff onboarding and training.
Powered by OmniSphere, Titan XT provides a secure, scalable cloud platform that can be deployed on existing or new cabinets, offering futureproof innovation while reducing IT management burden. OmniSphere is designed to integrate all stages of medication management, starting with nursing floors and expanding to additional care areas over time. The platform aims to enhance efficiency, improve patient safety, and create a connected medication management ecosystem.
Titan XT is currently available for purchase in the United States, with international availability expected in 2026. OmniSphere updates and new feature releases are scheduled to begin in early 2027, ensuring ongoing innovation for healthcare systems using Titan XT.
