ExaCare AI, a leading company in automating operations for post-acute care providers, has successfully completed a $30 million Series A funding round, led by Insight Partners. Other investors in this round include Foundation Capital, Bienville Capital, and other notable firms. This financial boost will help ExaCare speed up the development and expansion of its AI platform, which is specifically designed for skilled nursing facilities. The funds will be used for product development, engineering, and customer support. Currently, ExaCare’s technology is used by over 1,500 facilities across the country, including major operators such as National Healthcare Associates, Journey Healthcare, Ignite Medical Resorts, Monarch Healthcare Management, and Majestic Care.

Admitting patients in post-acute care often requires quick decisions made with incomplete or disorganized information. Referral packets are usually large, unstructured, and contain important clinical details that can be easily missed. This leads to delays, poor communication, longer wait times for patients and their families, revenue losses for care providers, and added stress for staff. ExaCare AI is helping to change this by enabling skilled nursing facilities to quickly analyze referral data, spot potential clinical issues, and improve communication. The platform helps standardize admission criteria across teams and shifts, making safer placements and reducing administrative tasks.

Laird Russell, Co-founder and CEO of ExaCare AI, shared the vision behind the technology. He described the goal as creating an AI system that supports every team in the post-acute sector. This system uses intelligent agents to turn scattered data into clear next steps. He emphasized that when decisions are clear, handoffs between teams are smoother, and workflows adjust automatically, caregivers can focus more on patient care and outcomes. Russell’s personal experience with a brain injury and his time working in healthcare inspired him to build AI models tailored for this complex industry.

George Mathew, Managing Director at Insight Partners, talked about the challenges faced by post-acute care providers, like tight profit margins and staff shortages that affect patient outcomes. He praised ExaCare’s AI platform for making the admissions process faster, more reliable, and less stressful for both providers and patients. He expressed excitement about supporting ExaCare’s mission to improve post-acute care through innovative technology and commitment. In addition to the funding news, ExaCare has added five new advisors with extensive industry experience to guide the product roadmap. These advisors include Ephram Ostreicher, COO at National Healthcare Associates; Bernie McGuinness, President and CEO at Journey; Austin Steele, Chief Strategy Officer at Journey; Tim Fields, Co-founder and CEO at Ignite Medical Resorts; and Renee Pruzansky, VP of Strategy and Business Development at Infinite Care.

ExaCare is launching a new set of AI agents aimed at improving skilled nursing workflows. These agents include the Admissions Agent, which reviews referral packets and recommends admissions based on clear guidelines; the Reimbursement Agent, which helps with documentation and coding to ensure timely payments and fewer claim denials; the Clinical Agent, which gathers complete patient histories from various sources to enhance care decisions; the Survey Readiness Agent, which helps facilities prepare for inspections by pointing out risks and offering checklists; and the Documentation Agent, which standardizes forms and keeps records accurate. Each agent is designed with strong audit trails, role-based access, and privacy protections, aiming to cut down on paperwork and allow caregivers to focus more on patient care. ExaCare AI will host its first AI Summit on April 25, 2026, at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event will bring together industry leaders, clinicians, payors, and technology experts for keynote speeches, panel discussions, live demos of ExaCare’s AI agents, and interactive sessions on speeding up admissions, improving reimbursement accuracy, and boosting survey readiness. This summit represents a major step forward in advancing AI-driven solutions for skilled nursing and long-term care settings.
