Dexcom Academy was created in response to input from healthcare professionals to help strengthen confidence in using CGM and to support consistent, high-quality diabetes care without adding to clinical workload. The platform is available as a desktop interface and a mobile app. Healthcare professionals can select learning resources tailored to their needs through short, flexible modules designed to fit into busy schedules and provide practical, easily digestible content.
In developing Dexcom Academy, Dexcom engaged closely with healthcare professionals across EMEA to understand what type of education would truly support them in their practice. Many participants shared that existing programs were too broad, overwhelming, or not tailored to their specialty or level of experience. They also emphasized a need for practical content that could be applied directly during patient consultations.

These insights are consistent with findings from the Dexcom State of Type 2 Report, which noted that 38 percent of healthcare professionals surveyed across EMEA felt that ongoing education on the latest diabetes technology could help them overcome challenges in managing patients with type 2 diabetes. Dexcom Academy addresses this need by offering clear, practical education that supports the adoption and effective use of CGM for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Nora Ruhl, PhD, Professional and Patient Education Lead for Dexcom EMEA LATAM, explained that healthcare professionals had expressed a need for education that is flexible, personalized, and practical. She said that Dexcom Academy delivers evidence-based, bite-sized training that builds confidence in CGM use and helps professionals provide optimal care for patients living with diabetes.
Maite Penalba, President of the Association for Diabetes Educators in Valencia, added that Dexcom Academy offers healthcare professionals a chance to complete certification courses at their own pace, learn from real case studies, and apply their knowledge directly during consultations. She emphasized that the platform allows clinicians to continue their professional development while sharing best practices with their peers, calling it a valuable and practical tool.
Dexcom Academy provides structured learning pathways suited for various experience levels. It offers education on Dexcom G7, Dexcom ONE+, and the full portfolio of Dexcom software. Beyond product-focused training, the platform covers clinical scenarios, evidence summaries, and other resources designed to enhance practical knowledge. Personalized and flexible learning options allow healthcare professionals to complete modules according to their own schedule. The platform also provides certification courses to support professional growth and educational resources that improve patient understanding. Additionally, it encourages knowledge sharing and collaboration across the clinical community.
By delivering accessible, evidence-based training, Dexcom Academy equips healthcare professionals with the understanding and confidence needed to use CGM effectively across diverse patient populations. The platform supports consistent, high-quality care while helping clinicians navigate the evolving landscape of diabetes management.
Dexcom Academy reflects Dexcom’s long-term commitment to supporting healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes. With further EMEA launches planned for 2026, the company continues to invest in education that complements its technology, ensuring that training evolves alongside clinical needs and healthcare practices.
