Talkspace, a leading online behavioral health company, has introduced Chapters, a new program designed to meet the mental health needs of women at every stage of life. Chapters provides personalized care pathways tailored to each individual, addressing key life transitions from adolescence and young adulthood to family planning, pregnancy, postpartum, midlife, menopause, and caregiving in later years. The program aims to close longstanding gaps in mental health care by offering targeted support for challenges unique to women’s experiences.

“Women’s lives are shaped by biological, social, and relational changes,” said Dr. Nikole Benders-Hadi, Chief Medical Officer at Talkspace. “Chapters is designed to reflect these transitions. Whether someone is entering adolescence, becoming a new mother, or navigating menopause, their care should consider their experiences. This program provides that full-spectrum support in a clinically informed and compassionate way.”
Women in the U.S. face a disproportionate mental health burden. At least one in five experience a diagnosable mental health condition each year, and women are nearly twice as likely as men to develop anxiety or depression. Postpartum depression affects roughly one in eight new mothers, and about 20 percent of women experience mental health symptoms linked to hormonal changes during menopause. Programs like Chapters address these disparities by providing care specifically designed for women’s unique life stages.

Chapters combines Talkspace’s virtual care platform with a clinical model that accounts for the social, biological, and psychological factors affecting women’s mental health. Clients are guided through life-stage-specific care pathways and work one-on-one with clinicians trained in evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness. The program uses standardized assessments, structured care plans, and real-time tracking of outcomes to ensure precision and continuity of care.
The program also supports Talkspace’s women’s health partners, including Tia Health, The Lactation Network, and coalition members such as Ovia Health, Conceive, Evernow, FitOn, Nurx, Cove, and Nutrium. By providing early intervention and addressing mental health needs before they escalate, Chapters aims to improve clinical outcomes, lower costs, and increase equitable access to care. Chapters is available nationwide to Talkspace members, covered by most major insurers, and allows individuals to self-refer.
