Given that healthcare generates approximately 30 percent of the world’s data, much of which remains in paper form such as consent forms, discharge summaries, and handwritten notes, DextractLM addresses these challenges through proprietary datasets, custom annotation methods, and advanced fine-tuning techniques. Key features of the model include layout awareness to interpret document structure, token-level entity recognition for precise data extraction, and consistent performance across various formats like scanned faxes, handwritten forms, and PDFs.
