Veradigm, a top company that offers healthcare data and technology solutions, has announced a new partnership with Sentara Health Plans, a major regional health plan that serves over one million members. As part of this agreement, Sentara will use Veradigm’s Payer Insights software to send patient-specific care gap alerts directly into the electronic health record systems that its network providers use.

This integration helps health plans and providers work together better to close care gaps, improve patient outcomes, cut costs, and boost satisfaction for both patients and providers. Veradigm Payer Insights is already being used by nearly 17,000 practices across the U.S., and it has generated more than 600,000 patient alerts.
Recently, KLAS Research recognized Veradigm’s effectiveness with a 2025 KLAS Points of Light Award for its integration at Metroplex Medical Centers in Dallas-Fort Worth. Donald Trigg, CEO of Veradigm, said that the company’s experience with physician practice operations helps health plans support providers without messing up their workflow or adding unnecessary costs.

Sentara Health Plans is one of the largest integrated health systems in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. It operates 12 hospitals in Virginia and northeastern North Carolina and employs 34,000 people, including 10 hospitals that have Magnet recognition for nursing excellence.
