Tech Mahindra, a global provider of digital transformation and consulting services, has announced a strategic collaboration with Abacus Insights, a leading platform for healthcare data interoperability in the U.S. payer market. As part of the collaboration, Tech Mahindra will act as a key implementation partner. The company will manage the migration, customization, and rollout of Abacus Insights’ CMS Interoperability Compliance solution across various payer organizations in the U.S. This turnkey platform helps streamline operations and make health data more accessible and useful to both patients and care providers. The combined expertise will allow payers to comply with evolving regulations, lower their overall costs, and reduce the time it takes to become fully compliant.

According to Mahesh Rajamani, Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences for the Americas at Tech Mahindra, many healthcare payers are struggling to bring together disconnected systems, roll out Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards, and stay on schedule with federal deadlines. He explained that integrating Abacus Insights’ technology with Tech Mahindra’s experience in enterprise delivery offers a powerful solution that simplifies the process and reduces risks at scale.

Abacus Insights’ data platform is built to enhance usability and accelerate the return on investment for healthcare data projects. With the latest CMS mandates being significantly more complex than previous rules, many payers face steep challenges. This partnership offers a way to meet these requirements through a secure, modular, cloud-based infrastructure, all while minimizing implementation risks.

Gokul Varadharaj, Chief Revenue Officer at Abacus Insights, noted that their platform allows for easier FHIR-based data exchange, generates audit-ready records, and serves as a scalable base for future analytics and compliance needs. He added that the collaboration with Tech Mahindra offers flexibility for payers at any stage in their interoperability journey, enabling them to meet looming CMS deadlines more affordably and efficiently.

This alliance reinforces both companies’ focus on helping the healthcare industry adapt to regulatory demands while improving outcomes and data access. It positions Tech Mahindra and Abacus Insights as essential partners for U.S. health plans navigating complex digital transformations.
