SOPHiA GENETICS, has expanded its footprint in the United States by partnering with two of the country’s largest integrated health systems. The newly signed organizations represent a major addition to the company’s growing network and collectively process millions of genetic samples each year. One of the partners is among the largest nonprofit, multi region healthcare providers in the nation, while the other ranks within the top ten health system laboratories in the United States. Both institutions will implement the cloud based SOPHiA DDM platform to support large scale genomic data analysis and strengthen their precision medicine capabilities.

Through the adoption of SOPHiA DDM, the health systems plan to introduce advanced genomic testing programs serving as many as 60,000 patients annually across facilities located on the West Coast and in the Midwest. The initiative is expected to improve diagnostic speed and enable more individualized treatment strategies, particularly for patients affected by hereditary cancers and rare genetic disorders. By embedding artificial intelligence driven analytics directly into laboratory workflows, the institutions aim to manage increasing testing volumes while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.

A key component of the rollout includes the use of Enhanced Exome, an analytics application within the SOPHiA DDM environment that allows comprehensive analysis of more than 20,000 genes. The system also enables deeper examination of clinically significant regions of the genome, supporting physicians and researchers in identifying actionable insights. With these tools integrated into daily operations, both health systems anticipate shorter turnaround times for results, improved cost management, and expanded opportunities for in house research and innovation.
John Carey, Managing Director for North America at SOPHiA GENETICS, explained that collaborations of this scale reflect rising demand for advanced genomic technologies that can handle growing data complexity without placing additional strain on laboratory teams. He noted that the combination of sophisticated bioinformatics, shared knowledge from a global network of users, and streamlined processes allows healthcare organizations to generate more meaningful insights from genomic data while maintaining operational efficiency.
The collaboration establishes a long term framework that supports continued growth in artificial intelligence driven precision medicine. Together, the two health systems provide care to nearly one million patients each year who are affected by cancer and rare diseases. By strengthening its presence in the United States, SOPHiA GENETICS continues to advance its goal of making data driven medicine more accessible to clinicians and researchers, supporting faster innovation and improved patient outcomes across some of the most complex areas of modern healthcare.
