With the country’s healthcare system facing a shortage of nurses, increasing burnout, and a lack of strong leadership, Prairie View A&M University’s Dr. Abida Solomon is being honored for her role in shaping the future of nursing. Dr. Solomon, a professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at PVAMU, has been chosen as a 2025 Excellence in Nursing Award recipient by the Good Samaritan Foundation. The Foundation is one of Texas’s top organizations that recognizes and supports outstanding work by nursing professionals throughout the state.
