Collette Health, a platform that helps hospitals and health systems deliver virtual care in a value-based way, has launched two new features aimed at improving patient privacy and safety: Virtual Knock and Ligature Resistant Ceiling Mount hardware. These updates come in response to feedback from clinicians, patients, and administrators, and they show the company’s dedication to creating healthcare solutions that truly meet real-world needs.

Virtual Knock is designed to protect patient dignity during virtual visits by mimicking the practice of knocking before entering a room. When the feature is activated, patients hear a chime before their appointment starts and see a screen showing the consultant’s name along with a countdown timer. Healthcare organizations can choose delays of 5, 10, or 15 seconds to fit their workflow. This feature helps maintain respect and openness without slowing down the work of clinicians.
In addition, Collette Health has introduced a Ligature Resistant Ceiling Mount to make virtual monitoring safer for patients who are at risk. This new hardware has a protective dome that stops ligatures from being attached to camera parts and is installed in the ceiling to remove any mobile equipment that might be a danger. It is especially useful in behavioral health units, pediatric areas, emergency rooms, and other locations where patients might be at risk of self-harm.

These improvements highlight Collette Health’s strong relationship with its healthcare partners. Instead of making features on their own, the company listens to input from the front lines to shape their virtual care tools. This method allows them to quickly adapt and offer solutions that match the changing needs of patient safety and privacy.
Holly Miller, CEO of Collette Health, said both Virtual Knock and the Ligature Resistant Ceiling Mount are important parts of their virtual nursing product. She stressed that good technology design should respect patient dignity while also providing the clinical results that healthcare providers need.
