The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) has announced that the U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD) has been elevated to Champion status within AANA’s Corporate Partner Program, the highest level of partnership within the organization. Effective January 2026, this recognition reflects a strengthened collaboration aimed at advancing anesthesia care, leadership development, and workforce readiness in both military and civilian healthcare systems.
The partnership highlights a shared commitment to preparing highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), also known as nurse anesthesiologists, who play a critical role in delivering safe and effective anesthesia care for service members and beneficiaries across the globe. Through this collaboration, AANA and AMEDD aim to enhance clinical training opportunities, support continuing education initiatives, and reinforce the essential contributions of CRNAs to patient safety and healthcare resilience.
Bill Bruce, MBA, CAE, Chief Executive Officer of AANA, emphasized the importance of this strategic partnership. According to Bruce, the U.S. Army’s participation in the Corporate Partner Program demonstrates a powerful alignment of mission and service between the two organizations.
