Wisp, the largest women’s telehealth provider in the United States, has announced its acquisition of TBD Health, a national sexual health platform and one of the country’s most established TelePrEP infrastructures. This acquisition marks Wisp’s first and represents a major step beyond direct-to-consumer care into enterprise and hybrid care models. Care delivery is increasingly shifting outside traditional clinical settings, blending consumer-focused digital services with hospital systems, enterprises, and public health programs. Despite these advancements, gaps remain in sexual health and preventive care. Only about 25 percent of the 2.4 million people in the U.S. who are eligible for PrEP are currently enrolled, highlighting a significant public health challenge. Women, who account for 19 percent of new HIV diagnoses, remain underserved because many existing prevention programs have been designed primarily for men.

Monica Cepak, CEO of Wisp, said the acquisition reflects both the evolution of healthcare delivery and the persistent gaps in care for women. She explained that TBD Health brings national infrastructure and established partnerships that allow Wisp to expand into hybrid and enterprise care quickly while maintaining a patient-first approach. Cepak emphasized that the combined platforms will make preventive care more accessible for women and integrate them into care models that have proven results.

TBD Health operates a nationally scaled sexual health and diagnostics platform that spans all 50 states, offering STI and HIV testing, virtual clinical support, and partnerships that reduce cost barriers for patients. By merging Wisp’s trusted women’s health platform with TBD Health’s care infrastructure and existing health system relationships, including Mount Sinai Health System, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and Planned Parenthood Direct, the combined company aims to broaden access to sexual health services, diagnostics, and hybrid care options that reflect how patients seek care today.
Daphne Chen, Co-Founder of TBD Health, said that joining Wisp enables the team to provide partners with a comprehensive solution for PrEP and sexual health care that integrates smoothly into existing workflows, ensuring that no patient is left behind. Stephanie Estey, Co-Founder of TBD Health, added that Wisp’s scale and trusted reputation provide the ideal platform to advance their enterprise care vision.
Looking ahead, Wisp is actively seeking partners across healthcare to close access gaps. The acquisition positions Wisp to expand consumer health, enterprise partnerships, and public health initiatives at scale. The company also plans to explore additional strategic acquisitions to grow into new areas of health and broaden its care delivery capabilities.
