Leapfrog established the PAC in 2009 to give healthcare companies a structured interactive forum for dialogue between the industry and Leapfrog’s Management and Board of Directors.

This collaboration comes at a critical time for healthcare. Research shows that nearly one in four hospitalized patients will experience a harm event, 25% of which are preventable. Exacerbating this is the growing workforce shortage, with a projected shortfall of 307,010 registered nurses by 2027 and up to 139,000 physicians by 2033.

As Leapfrog’s first partner with an advanced technology platform focused on patient safety, RLD brings deep expertise to the shared goal of making healthcare safer, more transparent and more responsive to the needs of patients and providers alike. Today, 83% of U.S. health systems rely on RLD solutions, underscoring the organization’s role in supporting the nation’s leading health providers.

“The first promise of healthcare is to ‘first, do no harm’ — now is the time to level up our collective efforts to eliminate harm in healthcare,” said Dan Michelson, CEO of RLD. “Given their central role as an agent for change, we’re very proud to join The Leapfrog Group PAC to help drive the next wave of progress in this mission of making healthcare safer for all.”

Through its work with the PAC, RLD will help advance initiatives aimed at driving systemic change through better data, deeper accountability and transparency and a stronger culture of safety.

“We are proud to partner with RLDatix to improve patient safety in the United States,” said Leah Binder, Leapfrog president & CEO. “Its insights and expertise are crucial to our mission. Everyone deserves the highest quality care, and together with RLDatix we can achieve our shared vision for excellence.”
